The three coverings of the Ark

Numbers 4: 5 - 6: And when the camp setteth forward, Aaron shall come, and his sons, and they shall take down the covering vail, and cover the ark of testimony with it: And shall put thereon the covering of badgers’ skins, and shall spread over it a cloth wholly of blue, and shall put in the staves thereof.

The Ark of the Covenant when in transit was covered with the vail, badger skins and a blue cloth, thus there were three coverings over it. When the Ark was set in position in the Holy of Holies after the tabernacle had been erected, the three coverings were then removed, thus it took three pulls to remove the three coverings in order to reveal the Ark.

The Ark of the Covenant represents Christ. When God sent a prophet in the last days, his ministry consisted of three pulls (signs in the hand, discernment, and the revealing of the Word). These three pulls were to catch the attention of the people in order that Christ the Word might be brought into plain view before us all.
