Behemoth and Leviathan


Job 40: 15: Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.

Job 41: 1: Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down?

The Book of Job is the oldest book in the Bible. Job lived before Abraham. God described to Job two creatures that existed whilst Job was still alive. These two creatures were dinosaurs and known by the names of Behemoth and Leviathan. Behemoth was a large-bodied, long-necked, long and broad tailed four-footed dinosaur, possibly the Brachiosaurus, whilst Leviathan was a fire breathing (Job 41: 19 - 21) aquatic living dinosaur.

The word “dinosaur” (meaning “terrible lizard) is the modern term for the ancient word “dragon.” The Bible often uses the term “dragon” throughout its passages. Perhaps the most well-known place for such a term is in the Book of Revelation which speaks of the great red dragon which in reality is a dinosaur that is representative of Satan and the Roman power. Dinosaurs were made with man on the sixth day of creation along with all the other land creatures. Dinosaurs were therefore in the Garden of Eden with Adam and Eve, they went onto the Ark with Noah and his family, and entered the new world where Job eventually saw them when he was alive. History is replete with sightings and records of man and dinosaur existing together. After the Flood as the atmosphere changed along with other factors including dinosaurs being hunted to extinction, the great dinosaurs eventually died out.
